Testimonial from Juanita "Bunny" Blea

It was August of 2016 when I finally took—what felt like at the time—an uncertain leap into Barista-hood at Humble Coffee. I say “finally,” because Juice, (Joshua) who’d been working at Humble since its establishment in 2014, had asked me multiple times by that point to come join the Humble crew. It was much smaller then and I was unsure of my own financial stability. But during an interview with the owner at that time, I decided that working customer service at the drive thru shop was going to be well worth it all. 

I’ve worked in the customer service industry since I was fourteen. From fast food, to retail, to insurance, I’ve never been happier than when I was serving coffee. 

 

Juice and I started our coffee career’s when Dutch Bros Coffee came to Colorado. That’s where we met, learned how to sling the beans, and became great buddy’s. Being a barista and preparing high-quality drinks at a fast-pace through a drive thru was an experience I'd never anticipated having—what with other goals of being an illustrator or graphic novelist—but I think I can speak for both of us when I say we fell in love with it, quickly. People who want coffee at almost any point of the day—are some of the nicest and happiest people we’ve had the pleasure of serving. Especially here at Humble Bee Roastery Coffee, where we have the privilege of making their day just a little brighter.

 

In another unexpected twist, my passion for art has been a useful asset here at Humble, where I can draw cute stickers, and help make fun signs for the business! 💜

 

Between the two of us, we have over twenty years of experience making quality coffee drinks. It’s been a fun journey, learning and growing in the coffee business. It wasn’t until 2018 that Juice and I started thinking about things like franchising, and growing Humble Coffee. We started to imagine what it would be like to really be a part of something wonderful, community-focused, and doing what we love to do. Heck, we were already there, and ready to support the owner at the time, in making it happen, if that was the direction they wanted to go. So when we were given the opportunity to purchase Humble Coffee back in 2020, we knew it was a fantastic chance to see our dreams come to fruition. 

 

Since then, we’ve seen so much encouragement, love and support, from our neighbors at TGap, the community, friends and family. We never want to take the blessing we’ve been given for granted—but continue to grow, personally and as a business.
